The data are taken from the Survey of School Administrators, part of the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY), which was fielded in the fall of 1996. A total of 5,295 high schools returned questionnaires, containing a battery of questions on the availability of school-to-work programs, broadly defined. This report, commissioned by the National School-to-Work Office, provides evidence that the School-to-Work Opportunities Act (STWOA) is helping to foster significant reform in the delivery of curriculum to students, and is promoting school-to-work practices in American high schools. |
