Onset of a disabling condition whether it implies primacy or not usually brings with it a change in the person's perception of the environment. Traditionally, Rotter's locus of control has been used to describe an individual's psychological orientation to the environment. Studies which investigate the impact of disability on locus of control are all but lacking. This study investigates the relationships between women with work or activity limitations and their perception of personal and environmental control. Correlational and chi-square (contingency table) analysis are used to discuss the relationship.
