Jobs are classified by detailed Census industry and occupation, and the outcomes experienced by individuals are analyzed to determine: (1) the separate contribution, apart form workers' personal (human capital) characteristics, of job class in accounting for differences among workers in earnings, job satisfaction and employment behavior; (2) how workers' personal attributes interact with job characteristics in generating these outcomes; and (3) how personal characteristics influence individuals' job (occupational class) location. |
