Notes:

From 1986-1998, child temperament questions were administered in the Mother Supplement self-report booklet.

In 2000, the items about child temperament were administered in the CAPI Child Supplement for children under age 4.

In 2002 (and after), the temperament items returned to the Mother Supplement.

Starting in 2006, the Temperament items (and all Mother Supplement assessments) were integrated into a section of the mother's own main Youth questionnaire and were administered for each age-eligible child.

Question numbers in BOLD indicate that the item is reversed in scoring.

In 1986-1998 the database Q#s are based on the following pattern: MS+YR+deck and column in the paper questionnaire. The items listed here for 1986-1998 refer to the item# in the actual questionnaire.

In R24-2010, due to the reduction in the younger child sample, only children administered Parts A and C have valid data. In R25-2012, only Parts B and C had cases in that age range.

Note: The items in the sociability subscale are administered in the Child Supplement. For survey years 1986-1992, the item names follow this pattern: CS+YR+deck and column # in the paper questionnaire. The "CSYY" string in the Q names for 1994-1998 refers to the Child Supplement, 2-digit Year of Survey.
