Figure 3 outline. How rosters are created

  1. Data from previous round's roster: Information about the topic of the roster is pulled out of the roster from the previous interview and verified or updated.
    1. Raw data collection in current round: The interview includes questions that gather new information about the same topic.
  2. Current round roster creation: Using information from both input sources, the computer constructs a grid of data with entries for each item on the list.
  3. Roster sort: The computer may sort the data according to a selected variable. Not all rosters are sorted; some are constructed in the order the data was reported.
  4. Roster use in the interview: After the roster is created, additional questions about the topics may be asked in an organized manner. (Prompt complete.)
